“角质” 到底是什么？ 为什么总是听到“去角质” 很重要？而去角质又在保养里扮演着什么样的角色呢？

1.  “角质”是什么？
• 角质”其实就是我们俗话所说的死皮。
• 皮肤表皮层中的最外层，主要成分是软性角质蛋白，具有较强的吸水性，防御外来刺激物的渗入。

2. 既然角质可以保护我们那么，为什么有需要去角质呢？
• 角质层过厚皮肤会发黄
• 因为它含有胡萝卜素，过厚还会影响营养的吸收！
• 人体表皮的角质层经过约28天的周期实现新陈代谢，因此通过去角质清除掉皮肤表层的老化或死亡细胞，促进新细胞的产生，可以让肌肤看起来更柔嫩光滑
• 导致 >> 肤色不均、暗沉、保水度不佳，保养品不易吸收
• 暗疮、痘痘肌，也需要定期去角质，以帮助疏通毛孔，让角质更好的代谢。

3. 那么需要每天都去角质吗
• NO! 定期去角质可以，过度去角质万万不能。
• 乱用去角质产品/过度卸妆/清洁。
• 如果以去角质而获得肌肤的水嫩光亮，就如同饮鸠止渴，肌肤会在你一次又一次的去 “角质”后变得越来越敏感
4. 如何选择产品？
• 要用弱酸性，而非碱性的，
• 如果用洁面皂，请买前确认是否真是“皂”
• 因为“皂”一定是碱性的 >> 破坏肌肤屏障。

So, here we are!
This is not a simple makeup lesson. They teach us from the very beginning of the skin care process.
This is because we have to know how to take care of our skin before applying any cosmetic on our face.
We learn to love our skin and to be the real beauty, not simply wanting to use cosmetic to cover up.

This is part of how the set-up of the products needed in front of us.
Do you notice the 4 new brushes on the bottom right?
yes, it actually just cost us RM30 to get 1 compact cheek brush, 1 retractable lip brush & 2 eye applicators.
For personal hygiene purpose, everyone is required to buy this but the rest are FREE...

She is the makeup teacher of the day - Min Teh, such a young and pretty lady yet highly skilled.

There are lots of ladies waiting to become prettier and more aware to skin care knowledge.

After

 Tadaa... this is the day-makeup that done by ourselves under the guidance of our consultant.

Let's compare the before and after. And, this is the magic of makeup!

 It is very important to remember that skin care process is so much important before applying any makeup. So it makes you a real beauty =)

The pretty pink lady on the right is our beauty consultant - Ivy. She is the sales director of Mary Kay, such a soft, patient and knowledgeable lady. We learnt lots of beauty stuff from her.

At the end of the 1st lesson, I got this duo-color crème lipstick from Ivy and only i realize I was the host because I recommended to my friend here.
oh yea, gift for 女主人 who bring her friend to join us in the lesson.
It was so surprise and I'm so much in love with this nicely package and beautiful pigmented lipstick.

Then, here goes my 2nd lesson on the following Sunday...

I had selected to be the model of the day. So yea, if you can see I'm sitting in front of the audience with our teacher, Min Teh.
This is a dinner makeup lesson.

Before the lesson start, we are introduced to this amazing toy! haha... Mary Kay Skinvigorate Cleansing Brush
It is getting famous to hear people is using facial washing machine instead of hand in washing their face.
And, indeed, it not only helps us to do cleaning, but do massage to our face as well.
It brings many many benefits more, alright; I'm going to make a review on this soon.
And, if you get the chance to try it out, I believe you will get amazed too. haha

alright, this is the makeup done by our teacher and I am required to complete the makeup on my own.
Holly! such a challenge to duplicate what my teacher work.

 This is how the eye part looks like. It is a more exaggerate makeup compare to previous lesson.

This is the very first time I learn to use color and dare to apply so much color.
Then, it makes me realize it is actually very fun to play with color instead of keep using those so-called safe colors.
And, this is the first time I learnt to stick the fake eye lashes too! (though i don't really like such a heavy thing it is good to have the skill now)

Tadaa... this is the final look of the dinner makeup!

There is always a reason to get a gift. haha...
a small gift I get as a little reward by becoming the model of the day. ^_*

Last but not least,
here comes my last lesson in the 3-days-course on the following week - Bridal Makeup

 This time I'm more confident in applying color. and I think this is fun!

this bridal makeup was meant for photo shooting or wedding day which will be a long and tiring day so the makeup shall be thicker and more focus on doing the shading part and using two color of foundation to contour for dimension.

She is the model of the day. and look! how she transform to such a beautiful bride!
This is the magic of makeup!

I am truly happy to have this opportunity to learn so many things and... it's freeeee!! lol
I believe every woman wish to become pretty
and I've learnt that we really need to learn how to love ourselves, take care of our look, and be confident.
For all the knowledge I had learnt I just can't wait to share with all my ladies around me.

Great experience in 2 Houses

Oh Hi! I'm back!
I'd been stayed in island previous week because I was joining the super awesome George Town Festival 2014
I'd involove in this theatre - 2 Houses, which come under sin-pen colony
*sin-pen colony is basically a pop-up festival-within-a-festival celebrating the shared heritage of Singapore and Penang.

2 Houses is a festival-commissioned, site-specific drama, performed by a cast of some of Malaysia and Singapore’s finest actors.

I was there as the Front of House (abbreviated FOH)
House is where the audience is. Our jobscope is simply making sure every guest make the registration, read the house rules and get all they needed before the show start.

This is the very first time i come across this term - FOH
honestly I get  so much worried before I met those awesome people in the production
and watch the drama which actually cost RM150 for every aundience to watch this.

2 houses - georgetwon 1941

When every guest is enjoying the prepared wine and refreshment, the show simply start without informed. The drama start with a pretty young lady on a vintage car enter the mansion and an elegant lady in red croons a haunting song telling a tale about two men who came from china and then became brother.
This is how the relatioship of these two family ties.
But then, the relationship diminished over time as one of the family grew rich by getting support and helping the British Colonial.

The 2 Houses set against the backdrop of the Second World War and Emergency years, the drama follows the loves, lives and losses of those that witnessed the birth of Penang’s identity.

Producers:      Tan Kheng Hua, Joe Sidek and Pamela Ong

The audience is then invited to enter the Soonstead mansion, known as Heah Gate Mansion in the play.

They follow the character from room to room to witness the happening of the story. 

On 1941, when Japanese came and Penang is falling. British get their own people the boarding pass to run away. And so do the rich people is trying to get a place to send away their family and to protect their assets.

But he is so helpless when he has such a coward son who is not willing to go, then there is the time he needs help from the family he had been looking down on.

 The Act2 start again with the story telling by fanny. Then start the Emergency year.

Finally the japanese left and British is back. The little poor guy return with the status of lawyer of the Malayan Union.

The drama is a mixture of suspense, romance, relationship and family.
Being a site-specific production, it is so much different with conventional theatre.
It happen in an actual mansion, audience follow the charatcter with such a near distance, you feel yourselves involved in the story, hearing sound of wave when the singer singing the tale make you feel so much.

This is such an awesome opportunity to get to watch this show and get involve in the production, knowing so  many awesome people from singapore and other states.
I remember we were some sort of having a little culture shock there
But soon, we blend in very well  after a few days.
There are lots of serious-looking but lovely people.

The Safe Room @ Campbell Street, Georgetown Penang

Penang Cafe Culture !

Penang is so much crowded with different themed cafe now.

Myriad of choice is available now...

On a small street there are 3 cafe - Moustache, Sugar Honey and The Safe Room

One need to have some special attraction so one can stand out!

This is one of the most contented cafe in Penang - THE SAFE ROOM

It is located at Campbell Street, Georgetown. Same row with Moustache and Sugar Honey.

 Right after you enter the shop, you'll see this two big tank of liquid NITROGEN on you left. And, this is what make this cafe a great attraction to the people, especially those love to try new and special thing.

 alright, they offer Coffee, Tea and Dessert. 

 After you order at counter and paid, you'll get the receipt and this "bird" with a "S" stand for SAFE I think and a table number at the other side

 This is the interior space. They had prepared some props for people who loves taking picture and a cute corner for you. They have 3D lego  and the love lock tree at the end of the shop. definitely a place for friends gathering, and family-friendly too.

 They have this open kitchen. So, we can witness the process of how they preparing the beverages and dessert, especially people who is so curious in how they prepare the “dragon breath”
If you haven't come across with this "dragon breath", let me introdue later okay

 They have some choices of cake of cause. Then, see the COCONUT below? Oh? they sell fresh coconut huhh? NoNo... let's see

 Tadaa.... they make COCONUT LIQUID NITROGEN ICE-CREAM !
**Maybe you'd tried before at oversea, but it is definitely the first in Penang **
What's liquid nitrogen ice-cream?
They use FRESH fruits instantly made into ICE-CREAM using LIQUID NITROGEN
It is remarkably creamer, denser & smoother
Different with the conventional ice-cream, liquid nitrogen ice-cream eliminate air packets
and give the best texture!
It takes a ways the need of using eggs & additional fat,
making flash-freeze ice-cream a HEALTHIER

Then, we'd ordered this Hot Mocha.
You know why my friend insisted to order a HOT one? because she said she likes to see the coffee art
too bad, this is definitely not a nice one. and the taste too.
alright, not to give a negative comment. haha
but for me, if you know I am a coffee lover and specially mocha lover, okay, I will not feel like spending money on this in the next visit.

Oh yea, next visit? This is how the cafe is so brilliant in attracting the attention and giving the feeling of miraculuos! haha~ Introduce to you this DRAGON BREATH! a really really low cost but pricey POPCORN! A cold really cold but crunchy popcorn. A definitely instagramable picture haha~

Generally, this is a very instagramable place. hehe~ not a place for you to have your lunch or dinner but quite a good place for you to spend you afternoon or night with friends and family. However, this is a high expenses place. I'd recommend you to go with a few friends so you can share and try out all the "special attraction"
